BSL -1.0 Alkaline electrolysis electrode is composed of Raney Nickel catalyst that is coated on nickel mesh (46 mesh, strand diameter being ~0.25 mm).  In typical alkaline electrolyzer stacks, this electrode has been demonstrating the following characteristics:

  • Overpotential @ 5000 A/m2: ~320 mV for HER side (versus RHE) and ~350 mV for OER side (vs. 1.23 VRHE)
  • Degradation rate: < 0.5 μV/hr
  • Cell voltage: 1.85 V @ 5000 A/m2 (coupled with BSL-5.0 as the anode electrode)
  • Energy consumption: 4.5 kWh/Nm3 @ 5000 A/m2
  • Operational lifetime: BSL -1.0 alkaline electrolysis electrode demonstrated an operational lifetime of of over 20 years in typical alkaline electrolysis stacks used in the industry.

It is recommended that this electrode product to be operated for a minimum of 24 hours or longer in order to see the desired electrochemical performance. Shorter operational times may demonstrate low performance.

A typical lead time of 1 - 2 weeks is to be expected.
