BSL -5.0 Alkaline electrolysis electrode is composed of Raney Nickel catalyst that is coated on nickel mesh (46 mesh, strand diameter being ~0.25 mm). In typical alkaline electrolyzer stacks, this electrode has been demonstrating the following characteristics:
- Overpotential @ 5000 A/m2: ~275 mV for HER side (versus RHE) and ~320 mV for OER side (vs. 1.23 VRHE)
- Degradation rate: < 1 μV/hr
- Cell voltage: 1.75 V @ 5000 A/m2 (coupled with BSL-5.0 as the anode electrode)
- Energy consumption: 4.2 kWh/Nm3 @ 5000 A/m2
- Commercial use: BSL -5.0 Alkaline electrolysis electrode can be used both as the anode and cathode electrodes in typical alkaline electrolyzer stacks that are designed to generate ~1000-2000 Nm3/h.
It is recommended that this electrode product to be operated for a minimum of 24 hours or longer in order to see the desired electrochemical performance. Shorter operational times may demonstrate low performance.
A typical lead time of 1 - 2 weeks is to be expected.
