• Platinum Black, 20-30 m2/gram BET surface area

The platinum black manufactured by Fuel Cells ETC (FCE) is a fine powder that can be used as a catalyst or electrocatalyst in various applications such as H2-Air PEM fuel cells (as the anode and cathode catalysts), H2-O2 PEM fuel cells (as the anode and cathode), direct methanol fuel cell (as the cathode catalyst), PEM electrolyzers (as the cathode catalyst or as the recombination catalyst for the anode side that has a mixture of OER and recombination catalyst), high temperature PEM FC such as phosphoric acid doped PBI membrane utilizing fuel cells (as the anode and cathode catalysts), phosphoric acid fuel cells (as the anode and cathode catalysts), alcohol sensors and breathalyzers (as the anode and cathode electrodes), just to name a few. Other electrochemical and non-electrochemical applications can also benefit from the use of platinum catalyst would benefit from this product greatly.

This product has a BET surface area of 20-30 m2/gram. The average crystallite size is calculated as 6.27 nm for this product. The average particle size was measured as ~23.5 microns.
