CT is a woven carbon cloth with a Microporous Layer (MPL). It has a total thickness of 410 um (microns). CT is a great low-cost alternative to conventional woven carbon cloth Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) materials.

Advantages of CT Carbon Cloth:
  • Stable MPL slurry with sophisticated coating technology
  • High compressibility (up to 100kg/cm²)
  • Automated QC inspection system
  • Reduce catalyst slurry permeation
  • Avoid “flooding”

Fuel Cell Test Data:
The following test data was kindly supplied by the GDL manufacturer as an exemplary single cell fuel cell test data based on the following conditions:
  • Active area: 25 cm2
  • Anode Fuel: H2
  • Anode flow rate (constant flow): 1.5 SLPM
  • Cathode Fuel: Air
  • Cathode flow rate (constant flow): 2.5 SLPM
  • Anode/Cathode Humidification Temperature: 65 C
  • Fuel/Oxidant Reactant Relative Humidity: 90%
  • Fuel Cell Temperature: 60 C
  • Back pressure: None
  • Gasket Height: 260 micrometers
  • MEA Type: Catalyst coated membrane
  • Anode side catalyst loading: 0.1 mg/cm2 for Pt metal
  • Cathode side catalyst loading: 0.3 mg/cm2 for Pt metal
  • Anode/Cathode Gas Diffusion Layers: W1S1011

Applications That Can Benefit from This Product:
  • Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) as the anode/cathode gas diffusion layers
  • Phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFCs) as the anode/cathode gas diffusion layers
  • Direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) as the anode/cathode gas diffusion layers
  • PEM water electrolyzers as the cathode gas diffusion layer
