Sigracet 25 BC is a non-woven carbon paper with a Microporous Layer (MPL) that has been PTFE treated to 5%. It has a total thickness of 235 um (microns). SGL 25 BC is a great low-cost alternative to conventional woven carbon cloth Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) materials.
The Sigracet Carbon Fiber Paper 25 Series is intended to combine the required production robustness and the excellent performance properties. Stack developers and assemblers are benefiting from the following greatly improved characteristics:
- Greatly improved homogeneity inter-lot and intra-lot. The overall variability has been shown to be better than +/- 10% (2 sigma)
- Greatly improved surface flatness
- Greatly reduced occurrence of faulty spots on a roll
- Best performance under various operating conditions
Sigracet 29 BC is the successor type to Sigracet 25 BC. The thickness, areal weight and in-plane permeability (IPP) of 29 BC are designed to be comparable to 25 BC. However the surface defect rate of Sigracet 29 BC is significantly reduced.
Sigracet 25 BC was discontinued in January 2016 and permanently replaced by Sigracet 29 BC. In 2019, Sigracet 29 BC was replaced by Sigracet 22 BB.
