Determined by NREL 2019 Blind Study [ECS Transactions, 92(8), 723-731, October 2019]
This is the world's very first anion exchange membrane (AEM) that had demonstrated excellent durability at high operational temperatures (NREL October 2019 Blind Study). Virtually no degradation at 80 ºC for 1000 hours with 1M KOH. Imagine what you can do with such an excellent performance for your alkaline fuel cell or alkaline battery projects. Orion proudly presents the state-of-the-art AEM that will revolutionize your alkaline fuel cell, electrolyzer, or battery projects: Orion TM1 DurionTM. AEMs manufactured by Orion deliver the long-sought-after high temperature stability, high chemical stability, and robust mechanical features. Welcome to the future of anion exchange membranes.
Looking for high temperature operational stability for your application? Orion got you covered. Looking for reliability and long lifetime durability for electrochemical hardware? Look nowhere else and Orion got you covered. The blind study conducted by NREL for various AEMs (50+) demonstrated that Orion's TM1 DurionTM anion exchange membrane has excellent operational durability and high temperature resilience. Virtually no degradation at 80 ºC for 1000 hours with 1M KOH. Orion TM1 DurionTM membranes are currently supplied in the self-supporting form.

Orion's anion exchange membranes demonstrated the highest ionic conductivity compared to other 50+ AEMs in the blind study conducted by NREL. Chemical durability of these membranes were tested with 1M KOH at a temperature of 80 ºC for 1000 hours. % ionic loss and % IEC loss measurements demonstrated that membranes based on Orion's TM1 DurionTM resin showed virtually no loss. Orion's AEMs have high anion conductivity, excellent chemical durability (virtually no conductivity loss and IEC loss), and superb high temperature stability. Such advanced features makes AEMs based on Orion TM1 DurionTM an ideal membrane (or solid electrolyte) for numerous electrochemical devices.
