Nafion™ Beads
Nafion™ Resins R-1000 and R-1100
Nafion™ Resins are perfluorinated polymers used to manufacture ion-exchange membranes, catalysts, and related materials. It is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro-3,6-dioxa-4-methyl-7-octenesulfonyl fluoride. This thermoplastic polymer must be hydrolyzed to convert it to a form suitable for use in ion-exchange applications.
Nafion™ PFSA Superacid Resins NR-40 and NR-50
DuPont Nafion™ PFSA Superacid Resin is a bead-form, strongly acidic resin developed for heterogeneous acid catalysis of a wide variety of organic reactions. It is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro-3,6-dioxa-4-methyl-7-octenesulfonyl fluoride. The maximum use temperature is 200 °C, and local exhaust ventilation should be used for operations above 150 °C in open systems.
