Yttria fully Stabilized Zirconia (with 8 mol% Y₂O₃) is a commonly used and well characterized ceramic electrolyte material. YSZ-8 is used as a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) electrolyte membrane in solid oxide stacks and as a component in composite cathodes or cermet anodes. The relatively low surface area and mid-range particle size characteristics of this YSZ-8 powder make it well suited as an additive for tape casting processes, but it also can be used for pellet pressing, extrusion and other ceramic manufacturing processes.
