Oxygen Devices

Various applications such as artifact preservation, hypoxia training, food storage, long or short distance transport of fresh foods and maintaining their freshness, glove boxes, gun safes, electronics, camera storage, cigar storage, display cabinets, etc. requires special microclimates (oxygen-lean, oxygen-rich, humidity-lean, or humidity-rich).  Electrochemical technologies or electrochemical products can be used to create such special microclimates.   

Electrochemical microclimate oxygen controller operating principleElectrochemical microclimate oxygen controller products would enable users or operators or researchers to precisely control the oxygen concentration within a microclimate environment simply by adjusting the input electrical current or electrical voltage of the oxygen controller device.   Electrochemical oxygen control products operate on the principal of water electrolysis.  At the oxygen generation side (also known as anode side), water in the ambient air is electrolyzed to protons, O2 gas, and electrons.  Protons get transferred to the oxygen depletion side (which is also known as cathode side) through the functional membrane while electrons get shuffled to the cathode side via external circuit.  At the cathode side, protons and electrons electrochemically combine with O2 in the ambient air and produces water.  In summary, at the anode side, pure oxygen is being generated and hence oxygen-rich microclimate is being created.  At the cathode side, on the other hand, oxygen is being removed or consumed and hence oxygen-lean (or nitrogen rich) microclimate is being generated.

Electrochemical microclimate humidity controller products would enable users or operators or researchers to precisely control the humidity or RH% within a microclimate environment simply by adjusting the input electrical current or voltage parameters.   Electrochemical microclimate humidity control products operate on the principal of water electrolysis.  At the dehumidifying side (also known as anode side), humidity in the ambient air is electrolyzed to protons, O2 gas, and electrons.  Protons get transferred to the humidifying side (which is also known as cathode side) through the functional membrane while electrons get shuffled to the cathode side via external circuit.  At the cathode side, protons and electrons electrochemically combine with O2 in the ambient air and produces more humidity in the output.  In summary, at the anode side, humidity is being removed via electrolysis reaction and hence low humidity microclimate is being created.  At the cathode side, on the other hand, more water molecules are constantly being generated via oxygen reduction reaction and hence humidity-rich microclimate is being created.
