quickCONNECTfixture - Liquid Cooling High Amp Single Cell Testing Hardware enables the testing of various fuel cell MEAs/CCMs and other relevant components such as catalyst, membrane, GDLs, etc. up to 5 A/cm2 current densities.  The ease of use and repeatability of this unit make it truly unique. The active area that can be tested with this hardware is 12 cm2 (square shape).

The latest version of our quickCONNECT test cells comes with significant improvements in temperature management. The qCF LC (quickCONNECTfixture - Liquid Cooling) high amp was designed for the operation at high current densities where heat generation becomes a critical issue. The liquid cooling layers have been moved closer to the flow fields in order to have direct contact to the graphite flow field plates.  This achieves more efficient removal of generated heat from the cell fixture.  A temperature difference of less than 1K between cathode gas outlet and cooling liquid can be maintained at 5 A/cm2 and 80 °C cell temperature. All advantages of the quickCONNECTfixture principle like adjustable contact pressure on the active area, independence of thickness of tested components due to a self adjusting monopolar piston and the toolless assembly were retained to assure easy handling and highest reproducibility of results.

The hardware can be used for testing PEM H2/O2, PEM H2/Air, Direct Methanol (DMFC), etc.
