Tion5-W is PFSA (perfluorosulfonic acid) resin based cation exchange membrane with a thickness of ~127 microns (or 0.005"). PFSA membranes will conduct cations and are also known as proton exchange membranes in the market that are generally used to separate the anode and cathode compartments of the following applications: proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC), PEM electrolyzers (PEMEZ), direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC), electrochemical hydrogen pumps, electrochemical hydrogen compressors, electrochemical oxygen concentrators, biofuel cells, microbial fuel cells, enzymatic fuel cells, and other similar applications. Relatively thick nature of Tion5-W membrane makes this material ideal for particularly PEM electrolyzers, DMFCs, and biofuel cells. This membrane is supplied bare, with no backing plastics on either side.
