Carbon-coated lithium titanate (which is also known as carbon-coated lithium titanium oxide or carbon-coated LTO) has the chemical formula of Li4Ti5O12 for the active material and it is mainly used as the anode active material in the Li-ion batteries that demand high rate, long cycle life, and high efficiency. Carbon-coated LTO spinel anode powder has exceptional electrochemical stability. Carbon-coated LTO-based lithium-ion batteries are considered safer and have a wider operating temperature range compared to other batteries.
